That’s correct. You can’t.
After delivering final design files to my clients, I frequently get an email back that they cannot “open” the files. I tell them that they are correct — they can “place” or “import” certain files into their existing office applications, but they cannot open them.
Design files are created using industry specific design software (like Adobe Creative Cloud applications), that myself or another professional designer will be able to open for you to make updates.
With the delivered design files, I deliver explanations about the file formats and how they can be used for branding and marketing.

Even though the admin in your office could have put together generic visuals for you using open source applications, you hired me for my expertise.
